Vaasthu
Purush

The
house was a symbol of symbiosis of man and nature. A geometrical
enclosure or asraya encompasses the three states of matter
solid, liquid and gas and displays the static state (sthiti)
and dynamic state (gati) of Panchabhutas.
The present state of theoretical physics implies that
empty space has all this energy and matter is a slight
increase of that energy and therefore matter is like a
small ripple on this tremendous ocean of energy, having
some relative stability and being manifest. Therefore
my suggestion is that this implicate order implies a reality
immensely beyond what we call matter. Matter itself is
merely a ripple in this background.
The god of structures, Vaasthu purusha, provides protection,
happiness and prosperity. In principle, a naturally generated
space which within a boundary encompasses the elements
of boundless earth, fire, air and ethereal space that
also houses a grid of gods for foolproof protection: Aditya
(sun), Brahma (life's breath), Shiva (flow of life's energy),
Roga (protector from disease), Soma (elixir of life),
Kuber(wealth), and Yama(justice and death) to finally
achieve the ulterior motive of every human life happiness
and harmony always (sat, chit, ananda.)

“Purusha is also personified cosmos, the superman
who, according to legend, is manifested in sacrifice as
the phenomenal world, the gods, the sun and moon, fire air
and earth.
All existence is reflected in this magic square. It is an
image of the earth, which is a square. It is an image of
the earth. Which is a square derived from a circle; at the
same time it is also the sacrificed body of the primeval
being, Pursha. Man and earth correspond to one another in
this image . Time enters the mandala by coordinating the
signs of the zodiac, and space does so by orienting the
square towards the four(or eight) cardinal points. The quarters
or small squares, called ‘padas’, which are
covered by the individual gods, are grouped around a central
individual gods, are grouped around a central brahma-sthana
comprising several such small squares. Important gods cover
the innermost ring, and in the outer rings there follow
the gods of lower rank in the celestial hierarchy. Strangely
enough, the central square is no longer assigned to the
unformed’ Brahman, but expressly to the God Brahma.

With wisdom comes adaptation and protection of humans from
nature. It is the job as a designer to relate and to make
you realize how all things are connected and how the Indian
seers practiced the Vaasthu Shastra and why their dwelling
environment or habitat on earth represented a miniature
throbbing cosmos.

Vaasthu Shastra preaches the union of natural and human
energies within a home. To become aware of the natural environment
and to build in consonance with it is the message of this
traditional science of building. Vaasthu Shastra presupposes
the Psycho-spiritual connection of Hindu mythology with
human existence. Using the principles of measurement, rhythm
and proportion as the basis of all material manifestation,
it avers that the mind and spirit are capable of infusing
life into a space and promoting the free flow of energy.
